sRAW buffer depth

Does switching to sRAW in the 50D and 5D mk II increase each cameras buffer depth over the standard raw buffer (i.e. 16 frames for 50D, 13 frames for 5DII)?

In theory sRAW would produce a smaller file size, so does that translate into a deeper buffer in high-speed continuous?

I believe that you don't see much change in buffer size when in high speed mode (you might get one or two more frames), but you see a more significant increase in the number of images you can shoot in sRAW when you go to low speed continuous shooting.

It's certainly more complex than "1/2 the size so 2x the number of frames". I suspect that whatever RAW mode you are in you have to read out the whole RAW file into the buffer. For sRAW there's then probably some processing involved before the file is moved from the buffer to memory. So the buffer depth is related to shooting rate (how fast the buffer fills), processing time and sRAW file writing time (how fast the buffer empties).
