Sorry I know it is EOS forum. I beg you tolerance.
My question is belowed like that:
I used be a photographer using Hasselblud a lot. I love Hassel, its weist level and bright screen and super image quality. Now, I am not a professional any more. But I find myself not to be satisfied with 35mm DSLR. I am eager to use digital Hassel again.But you know new Hassel is tremedrous expensive, never never never touch down.
So my question is which one is the least expensive midium format Dslr? After the advent of digital, I completely didn't know what happened in the midium camera world since 1990. So, let me know your good information about using midium dslr with reasonable price. Which one is cheapest way to use midium format Dslr?
Additionally, if I can use the old Hassel (such as 503CX) and lenses, it couldn't be better. I used the Hassel for portrait and landscape.

Given the quality of 35mm DSLRs like the EOS 5D, EOS 1Ds MkII and the Nikon D3 and new D700, it's pretty hard to justify the astronomical cost of medium format digital. A top of the line Hasselblad outfit easily goes over $30,000 and that doesn't include lenses. You can do medium format "on the cheap" for maybe $10-12K, but that's not a full sized sensor (which for 6x6 would be 56x56mm).
645 is really 56mm x 42mm, but the 645 digital back for Mamiya is only 48mm x 36mm so it's really a "cropped" MF sensor. Even the new 50MP Hasselblad H3DII-50(a mere $40,000) is "only" 36x48mm. Just twice the size of the sensor in the 1Ds MkIII (under $8000). Add to that the fact that the H3DII-50 is limited to an ISO range of 50-400 and has a frame rate of around 1 fps and I think 99% of photographers would probably agree that the 1Ds MkIII is the better bargain!
Unless you're shooting the centerfold for playboy or doing very high end advertising work, there's really not a lot of need for MF digital. Quite a few MF film shooters have switched to full frame 35mm DSLRs and not seen a drop in image quality.
If may be safe to say that full frame 35mm digital is the new equivalent to medium format film, while medium format digital may be equivalent to 4x5 film, at least in terms of usage. If you previously need 4x5 to deliver the quality you needed, you can now probably do it with MF digital (at only 10x the cost...)

They haven't talked about price yet, and its a Leica, so it won't be cheap, but Leica has announced a new Medium Format S2 - it should stir things up a bit.

The Leica S2 is 20,000 Euros for the body, which probably translates to $25,000 or so. Then you need a whole new set of lenses since it's a new camer with a new format (30x45mm, 38MP), which, knowing Leica, means a few thousand dollars per lens. So let's say $35,000 for a body with 3 or 4 lenses.
Not exactly cheap, and probably not all that much better quality than a $2700 5D MkII full frame 21MP camera and a few Canon "L" lenses.
