Yesterday I went out shooting along the San Mateo Coast. I selected the combined RAW/jpg mode with the idea of experimenting with HDR post shooting.
I imported all of the jpg fine using Picassa 3.6, but it didn't pick up any raw images from the Kingston card.
I see two folders on the card under the dcim folder, 106_923, which is where I see the jpgs and CanonMSC. Under the CanonMSC folder is a file labeled mo106.ctg....is this where the raw images are stored?

Try using the Canon DPP software to look at your card. It may be that Picassa simply doesn't recognize or display the RAW files. They are stored in the same folder as the .jpg files.
The CanonMSC folder and .ctg files are just index files (.ctg stands for "catalog") and only used by the camera to keep track of images.
Be aware that even if you select RAW/JPG, RAW files are only recorded when you are in the "creative modes" (M, Av, Tv, P). In any of the automodes (green square and scene modes) only JPEGs are written to the card. This is certainly the case for DSLRs and I assume it also applies to the G11

The default setting for Picasa excludes RAW. So you need to go to Tools, Options, File Types, and then select the box for RAW.
