Dark photos outside
« on: February 13, 2011, 09:58:32 AM »

I took some shots outside of the kids washing the car. They came out ridiculously dark. Sometime the camera does this. I don't get it. This camera can be so frustrating. Sometimes I'll take a series of shots of the same person at the same time and invariably, some will be underexposed. I would show an example but can't figure out how to include an image.
The camera is an EOS Xti, about three years old.

Do you have really big thumbs?Huh

Seriously though, try a test and pay close attention to the histogram after each shot. You may have a defective camera and the test will determine it.

Set a normal ISO, say 200 and run a series of shots at aperture priority from wide open to f32. and check the pictures. Then switch lenses and do a similar test. You may find that you have a lens problem rather than camera.

The photos have to be on an external web server such as flickr or photobucket.
