Title: Canon Price Drop
Post by: klindup on August 02, 2014, 11:38:03 AM
As of Thursday or Friday, Canon seem to have dropped some of the prices in the UK for lenses.  this does not seem to be an offer for a limited period.  Reductions seem to vary but the 400mm f5.6 has dropped by around 12% and the 1.4 converter by 20%.  Not sure why, does this presage new lenses?

People read all sorts of things into price drops. Could be new lenses on the way, could be the lenses are due to be dropped and Canon want to clear out inventory. Could just be a reaction to market conditions or a market move ny Canon to attract new buyers.

Canon dropped the price on the C300 cinema DSLR by $2000 last month, from $14000 to $12000.

But whatever the reason, a price drop is a good thing if it applies to a lens you want!

But not so good when it happens the day after you bought a 300 f4. But I won't let it spoil my enjoyment of what promises to be a fine lens.
