Title: Gallery updates
Post by: bgclight on December 02, 2008, 04:49:26 AM
Hi Bob:

Thanks for listing my pictures on your gallery. As time goes on is it appropriate to upload more to change out what is there?

My wife fell and broke her hip about a year ago and I have been out of photography since then. She is doing well and we will start traveling and taking a few more pictures. I had been upgrading each time Canon came out with a new camera. I had decided to stop with the XTi and the 40D.

I had wanted the sensor cleaning capability even though dust has not been a problem for me at this point. I can not keep up! When I learn these cameras maybe I will upgrade and maybe not. The cameras are smarter than I am,

Thanks, BGC

For those unfamiliar with it, the gallery mentioned here is an experimental user contributed gallery that you can find at:

If a user wants to change the 3 images displayed they must first let me know so that I can delete the existing images. They can then upload new images. None of this is an automated process by design. I don't want spam posted there (as always eventually happens with any automated system), so each submission is manually added by me and the spam (which I do get) is thrown out!

As for cameras, the XTi and 40D are just fine. There's little point in chasing technology as it will always outpace you in the end. When you find you actually need new features and capabilities, then it's a good time to upgrade, but upgrading just for the sake of upgrading to the latest model can be an expensive habit. OK if you like new toys (and we all like new toys!) and you can afford to do it, but not really necessary for most people.
