Title: Aperture 2 Opinions/Questiions
Post by: Jonnycorn on May 31, 2008, 11:02:39 AM
I have been using Aperture 2 for a little while now and find it to be pretty easy to navigate.  As I gain more experience in working with RAW files, I see the potential this program has, but I think one limitation (and I think it's a big one), it that I can't section off one part of the image to work on - it's either adjust all or nothing...  As my price point getting into the program was better than PS C3, I can see just one of the many advantages having PS.  The other issue I am still trying to get used to is the Aperture Library.  It seems I have ended up with many duplicate "master" files, and so far, I have not figured out a way to quickly find these duplicates within the Library (I have many projects).  So, this weekend will be late nights sorting out the Library, unless of course, anyone here has some suggestions...

For what it's worth - I'm pretty happy with the program and feel that it fits my skill level at this time.  I recognize my learning curve and feel I can "cut my teeth" here, before diving into PS...

Again, thank you in advance for any advice.

Jon

Yeah, at this time Aperture is strictly whole-image manipulation execpt for some spotting and stuff.

The best place for Aperture advice is the Apple Discussion Group:
http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa

Even though it is on an Apple site, people are still pretty honest, so it is not just a "RAH! Apple!" site.
And some of the Apple Engineers comment on the discussion from time to time.
