Title: Spam and other assorted unwelcome visitors! Post by: Bob Atkins on January 01, 2009, 01:22:06 PM My apologies if you see spam or other assorted unwelcome posts in these forums! There seem to have been more of them recently. I do monitor the forums and I usually removed the spam (and ban the posters via all possible routes) as soon as I see it, but I'm not here 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year, so if you do see it before I do, just ignore it and the next time you check in here, hopefully I'll have had the chance to deal with it.
I have just removed a large number of what appear to be "bogus" users from the forum registration files and added some new filters to keep them out. These filters should not affect legitimate users, but if you have a problem, let me know. I wish everyone (except for the spammers...) a happy and prosperous New Year Bob |
