Title: Too much fill flash Post by: olyduck on May 02, 2009, 04:48:02 PM I was taking some portraits with my Canon 40D in low light. I was shooting in shutter-priority mode and wanted just a touch of fill flash. I set the camera to underexpose the flash by 2 stops, yet the pictures still came out looking like I really blasted them with full force flash...negating some of the nice natural light I had available. What should have I have done differently to get just that little bit of fill-flash I was desiring?

CF 1-7 allows sync speed to be locked at 1/250s in Av mode. If you have that set and there's not much light around, most of the illumination will be by flash. With sync speed set to "auto" you will get more of a fill-flash exposure. |
