Title: 40D backup - refurbed XT?
Post by: joneill809 on May 03, 2009, 04:34:51 AM
I'm going to have to send in my 40D for repair and I don't want to be without a camera for the duration of the repair.  I've been looking at an inexpensive refurb for a backup and came across an EOS XT for under $300.  I don't want to spend a lot of money on a backup body, so this seems to be a good fit, but I'm wondering if I'm overlooking anything that would divert me away from the XT as a backup.

I suggest a used 20D. The controls woluld almost be the same as your 40D which is the same as my setup. My 40D is now under repair also (Err 99) and 20D is the camera I use.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice.  I'll look into a used 20D.
