I've always been a fan of the LowePro camera bags and backpacks, in fact I have 3 different LowePro bags (2 backpacks and one waist bag) that I'm very happy with. They've all stood up to travel well and my oldest one is still fine after 15 years of use! I have both the "classic" trekker and mini-trekker. The "classic" fits me better because I'm 6ft and it's larger, but the mini-trekker is still very useful when I want to travel light.

For $150 or less, I'd look at the CompuTrekker AW Camera Backpack  (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000AQJ7J/bobatkinsphotogr) and the Mini Trekker AW Backpack (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00009R85Z/bobatkinsphotogr) and the possibly the Fastpack 350  (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000YIWR8G/bobatkinsphotogr). I'm not sure the 350 has a built in tripod attachmnent feature, but it does have "fast access".

I have a TAMRAC fanny pack I like, so I cannot comment directly, but Luminous Landscape likes this one:

The Kiboko looks interesting, but it's $400. Once you get into that price range there are a lot of excellent full size backpacks.

I wouldn't expect Michael Reichman to pay any less. 8^)

Hey guys I ended up getting the CompuTrekker AW Camera Backpack. It cost me $200 (aussie). It is great. Highly recommend it to anyone. Great fit and support. holds my 40d with 70-200mm lens + hood attached.  room for another 5-6 lenses. padded laptop pocket. and this awesome little rain cover that comes out from the bottom. plus heaps more. love it!

Thanks guys for the guidance
