Broadway Photo has a poor reputation. They are the same store as A&M Photo World, Regal Camera, Prestige Camera, Preferred Photo, Royal Camera and a few more. Any store that needs to trade under different names is one to avoid. They're one of the infamous "Brooklyn Camera Dealers".

There's a good reason that my recommendation are Amazon, Adorama, B&H and J&R. I personally deal with all of them. All have about the lowest prices you're going to get from a reputable dealer. All  have customer service which will correct problems. They don't lie about prices, don't add on "extras" and don't have excessive shipping charges. All three have good return policies with no restocking fees as long as the return is in "as new" condition and the return is made within the allowed time period. Note that when I say "Amazon" I mean orders filled by Amazon themselves, not one of their 3rd paty afilliates.

It's easy to get suckered in by low advertised prices, but those prices are usually a red flag to stay away from the store. Margins on photo gear are small. You really can't sell at a significantly lower price than you'll find on the B&H, Adorama, J&R or Amazon websites and stay in business unless you're going to pull some sort of scam on customers.

Within the last few days of this post date, the NY Attorney General has charged a number of NY vendors with fraudulant practices, including Broadway!  I generally do business with Adorama and B&H photo.  I'm sure there are other good vendors out there, but criminals like Broadway photo keep me from trying vendors other than the few I already trust from experience.  See:  http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10274730-1.html?part=rss&tag=feed&subj=Crave   for the news story.
