Title: Canon 50d Lenses
Post by: bsnooopy on September 01, 2009, 06:53:29 PM
After months of saving I am finally ready to purchase the 50d.  I recently re-read your review of recommended lenses for the 50d and  my now favorite lense is not on that list.  My 28-135 IS is the one that I rely on most and has performed great on my old Rebel.  How will this lense perform on the Canon 50d ?  Will I be disappointed and need to start saving for a new walk around lense?

In addition to the 28-135 IS I also have a 70 -300 IS and the fabulous little 50mm.

Thanks for your input.

The EF 28-135 works fine, it's just not very wide on an APS-C DSLR. At 28mm you get the same field of view as you would with a 45mm lens on a full frame camera.

See http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/tutorials/crop_sensor_cameras_and_lenses.html for a full explanation of why the field of view changes with format size.
