Title: Bob's Canon EOS 7D - Full "hands on" Review Post by: marcfs on November 18, 2009, 09:02:55 PM Bob,
Thanks for a thorough and complete review of the 7D. I am going to up grade my 20D to a 7D, and my 40D will become my back-up. What are your thoughts on setting up the camera? There are so many different options that each person is goiing to have to find what works for them. I only had the camera for a week or so, and that's really not enough time to fully investigate all the options. I think it's a camera you may have to live with for a while to learn its full potential.

Adding a bit to the 7D. The removable frame around the 7D's viewfinder is the same as on the IDMK3 and IDsMK3. I have changed out that frame to alter the diopter value of my 7D by ordering an EG+1 and was a little suprised to see it was listed for those 1D models . The EG diopters lenses are one-piece including both frame and lens. When I did the same earlier to my 5DMk2 and 40D I found I had to purchase a new frame type as well as diopter lenses. The frames for those two models are the same and also go back to a 20D I once owned. All a little odd I thought. Edit: I noticed in the spec sheets that accompany your 7D review that remote control RC-1 and RC-5 are not listed as a remote options. It should be noted the 7D can operate remotely using the two remotes. |
