Title: Storing Digital SLR
Post by: bobsloop on June 25, 2008, 04:02:20 PM
I bought my first Digital SLR (Canon 40D) yesterday.  I love it.  However, I don't see much information about how to store it when I am not using it.  I got the 28-135mm lens.  Should I detach the lens after each use or leave it attached at all times?  Also, should I remove the battery or leave it in?  Any information you can provide would be very much appreciated.

I'd leave the lens attached. Each time you change it there's a chance of getting dust in the camera which can end up on the sensor.

There's no need to remove the battery, though I guess if you don't use it for months it wouldn't hurt to do so.
