Title: EOS-1Ds Mark IV
Post by: maf1000 on January 10, 2010, 04:11:28 PM
Obviously the 1Ds Mark III stands out as being past due for replacement with a Mark IV.  Any speculation or estimations based on past trends and timelines for an update to the flagship camera?

Nope. I have no idea when the 1Ds MkIV will be released. Obviously it's in the works but when it will see the light of day I don't know.

Canon are not attending PMA this year, so that's not a venue for them to announce it. Photokina in Germany is the major show and it takes place in the fall. It happens every two years and 2010 is one of those years, so it might be where Canon make any major announcements this year.

Of course all major announcemnts aren't made at trade shows, but most of them are.

Of course it's sold out for now, but it comes back in waves.  Good luck!

That's a 1D MkIV, not a 1Ds MkIV. The 1D MkIV was announced in October 2009.
