I have been very pleased with the reasonably priced 17-40L.
This shot is taken right from our veranda.

Have spent a few hours testing the lens and can only recommend it.......

That's very kind of you Marc.
There's not much "talent" involved  at shooting this picture.
The scenery is outstanding. And never the same.
Allow me to post another image, same veranda, a while ago, with Nikon D300 12-24 DX.

I wish the forums would get more of a "human" and personal attitude, rather than be just a hardware one-sided questionnaire.
But people are usually shy and socially unripe, or at least that is how I see it.

One mistake that hobby-photographers do is think that a fancy new lens will magically improve their shooting skills.A new camera will do wonders....

The camera that will auto-evaluate the scene and shoot masterpieces is not yet invented (I think Sony is working on it..)
