Title: Lastolite trigrip diffuser vs a shoot thru umbrella
Post by: fjklein on April 03, 2010, 02:45:49 PM
I'm trying to decide one light shaper to use between a Lastolite trigrip difusser and a shoot thru umbrella. Would appreciate any input on the pros and cons of either one, and a comparison of flexibility and utiity. Thanks

It seems to me that the Lastolite trigrip diffuser (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000S5HDWK/bobatkinsphotogr) is designed more for handheld and outdoor use than use on a stand in a studio, whereas a typical shoot-through umbrella (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007VFNUY/bobatkinsphotogr) is designed more for studio use on a stand with a strobe.

So it really depends on your intended use. I'm sure that both are equally effective in diffusing light.
