Bob - your site is super. I saw a post that you use the Canon EF-S 10-22/3.5-4.5 USM. I am considering that vs the 17-55 f 2.8. What are the pluses and minuses? I also have the 28-135.

Well, the 10-22 is wider! That's the only advantage. If you want a wide lens, you have to go shorter than 17mm for a crop sensor camera. 17mm on an APS-C sized sensor camera gives you the same angle of view that a 27mm lens would on a normal 35mm film camera. That's wide, but not very wide. If you want very wide (similar to the angle of view of a 17, 20 or 24mm lens on a 35mm film camera), you need the 10-22 (or something with a similar fcoal length range). I sure don't want to be a pest - is the fixed 2.8 worth the tradeoff for wider? My guess is that I'd get more use from wider than a bit faster for landscape/travel?
