Camera Decision

I finally decided to get the Canon 7D.
I currently have a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 and a Canon 70-200mm lens that I used on a Canon 30D camera.
What is your take on these 2 lenses as far as buying the camera body only or should I buy the lens kit (28-135mm) that comes along with the 7D to fill the 50 to 70mm gap?

Use what you have and save your money for something else that you really need. The gap is not important unless you are printing extremely large.

I would agree. You're unlikely to miss the 51-69mm gap, though if the 28-135 would be of interest to you otherwise as a lens that covers a wide range of focal lengths that you use a lot it could be useful as a general purpose lens you keep on the camera all the time. When included in a "Kit" it can often work out quite inexpensive.

For example Amazon have the Canon EOS 7D for $1599 and the Canon EOS 7D + 28-135 kit for $1799, making the lens only $200 (it the Canon EF 28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM  sells for $400). So if you ever intend to get a 28-135, then it makes sense to buy it as part of a kit with the 7D.

If you just wanted to cover the "gap" the Canon EF-S 60/2.8 macro USM might be a good choice since it is an excellent macro lens as well as a general purpose 60mm prime and so doesn't really duplicate anything you have now.

Thanks for the great response. To bad the 28 to 135 kit lens wasn't faster.
I like the idea of the 60mm Macro lens as I would like to expand my picture taking to taking macro pictures.
Do you think I should stay with the 60mm lens or save up for the 100mm Micro lens?

I have the 60 mm and it is great.  I like it because:
It is small and easy to carry.
It was relatively cheap.
It is fairly fast.
The working distance is not too bad.

Big disadvantage:  No IS.

If you want to start getting into macro, then this is a perfect lens.  The 100 mm is so much larger you might not want to carry it around.
