Rebates

The rebates have been extended.
Is Canon using a "Going out of business sale!" technique, by constantly extending "deadlines"?

I'm pretty sure Canon's marketing department know how long the rebates will last when they are first announced. I guess they figure that the "two stage" rebates with extensions attract more customers then a more straightforward approach.

Or they only want to rebate so much, so if the first month's sales are less than they had hoped, they extend it.
