Has Canon changed their Lens Cap Style?

I just opened a brand new EF-s 18-55mm IS STM lens and found it has a center-pinch front lens cap.  Is this now factory?

Could be. The EF24-70/4L IS USM I'm looking at right now also came with a center pinch lens cap
