Anticipating 5D kit around 2000dollar?

Do you think that we can buy 5D(not mark 2) with kit lens, 24-105L at a low price upcoming canon rebate? Usually Canon do not provide rebate on new lens and body as you said. So I expect Canon would provide 5D kit around 2000dollar at the upcoming rebate program starting from mid of Oct. What about your opinion?

I don't know!

My guess is that such a low price is unlikely, but it's just a guess. If Canon do have a fall rebate program this year, at least we should only have a couple of weeks to wait to find out!

May I ask you a question again. I am waiting to buy new lens and body now because Canon rebate would come soon. My question is about the fall rebate.
In this fall, I anticipate to buy two items at least. I remember Canon fall rebate is like double or triple-fold program (I don't know how I can call it, but you know). Do you expect this fall rebate is as same as last(or two years ago) rebate program?

It's really impossible to predict what Canon will do. The fall program has often included double and even triple rebates when you buy multiple items, but just because they have done it in the past doesn't mean they will do it in the future. I'm sure they will design the program so that they make the most revenue from it, and that really depends on the economic situtation at the time of the program, which items they most want to sell and what the state of the competition is.

The current Canon rebates on the 40D and XSi kits (see http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/fall_2008_EOS_40D_Xsi_rebate.html) ends on October 13th, so maybe we'll see a fall program announced after that date.
