Hi folks, I am new to these forums.
I have been a long Canon devotee. Had an Elan IIe, G2, Rebel XT, and now purchased the 40D along with the 9000 Pro printer with the $300 rebate deal. Holy cow!
I saw the extra $50 rebate notification on this website if you are trading up from an XT to a 40D and was excited that the savings were going to continue!.......But.......did you notice that both rebate forms require the ACTUAL UPC code from the 40D box? Does this mean that I cannot really use both rebates together but only one OR the other?
I did note that there were two "bar" codes on the 40D box.....but only one of them looked like the actual UPC.
I would appreciate any thoughts and guidance on this. And if you can't really use both together, you might want to update your site....

You might want to give Canon a call. I know in the past with other rebates like this that some products have had two UPC codes on the box. The general number for Canon is 1-800-828-4040, but there's a special number on the rebate forms, 1-888-864-6781
I see two UPC type codes on my old 40D box, but they are different codes.
I'm not sure how Canon intend to handle this. Maybe they didn't think it through properly! However I'm sure they will have an answer, and if you get one, please let us know what they say. In the meantime, if I get any information I'll post it here and on the pages dealing with those rebates which need the UPC code.

Well, here is what I did. I called Canon and the rep said that I should be able to get this rebate. When I asked how I handle the requirement to have the actual physical UPC code for both rebates, the rep put me on hold and then said to simply send them both in, one with a photocopy of the UPC code. He then told me to call them back if there were any problems with getting the rebate. I did send in the second bar code (not the UPC code from the 40D box along with the photocopy as evidence that I did purchase the camera.
We will see what happens!
