i have been using my canon 450D for 6 months now, i have the kits lens 18-55 IS and the 50mm 1.8 lens. i wanted to have a "walk-around-lens" and i'm in a dilemma between 28-135 IS USM and the new 18-200 IS. which among the two is better? in terms of photo quality and built. for info, am just newbie and wanted to hone my skills before going to canon's "L" lenses.
thanks in advance to all the replies and more power!

Hi, I have the 28-135 IS USM as my everyday walkaround lense. It is a very versatile good quality lens (for a non-L). Since it's been out a while you can pick up good used ones reasonably cheap. This was the first IS lense I owned and it SOLD me on the IS. It is GREAT for hand held, low light shots. This lense is kind of prone to zoom creep (pretty common). But mine's still pretty tight. Overall I'd recommend it. That's my 2 cents worth. BB www.photosbybrian.photoreflect.com
