Millennium UV Filters
« on: January 20, 2009, 03:24:43 PM »

Mr. Atkins is to be commended for his article on UV and warming filters.  I have often wondered about the transmissibility and bandpass of some of the UV filters on the market and Bob Atkins’s article answers all of my questions except one.

Given the emphasis on Canon products on this website, I was somewhat surprised to find no listing for the Canon UV filters.  Are the Millennium filters the ones that are marketed by Canon?

I note that I have had no success in finding Millennium filters on the Web excepting for the referenced article on this website.

Nope, as far as I know there's no connection between Millenium filters and Canon.

Those tests were done maybe 10 years ago and I simply used the filters I had available to me. I suspect Millenium filters are some sort of "generic" brand. I certainly haven't heard much about them since I wrote that article.

I don't know if Canon make their own filters or just buy them from someone else and re-brand them. These days I usually buy Hoya filters if Hoya make the filter I'm looking for. They seem to be a good balance between quality and cost.
