Bob I believe I read a reply of yours about 5 years ago that pertained to Canon's EOS " Dep" and "Auto Dep" modes. It seems your take wasn't too positive but I can't remember if that was for both modes or just 'Auto Dep" mode. I still have a great working EOS 650 ( first EOS/ 1987) and I used and liked the "Dep" mode feature when on vacation shooting slide scenics. I thought it was an absolutely great mode that sadly gave way to the lousy "Auto Dep" mode that has lingered on. Seems you had a math formula or something you said was applied when they set distance and I assume that included hyperfocal of infinity to nearest point of focus. Can you point me to that reply or shed some thoughts on the "Dep " mode feature?

Thanks. That does looks like the text. A lot older reading than I remembered as it pre-dated the A-Dep. mode. I wish Canon had kept the original Dep mode and not made it into the miss mode that A-Dep is.
