I am in need of a 24 TS-E, but I read, a few months ago, that Canon might be updating the lens. Given that Nikon has a new 24 2.8 PC with tilt, this is new competition for Canon. Does anyone know anything about this? I would hate to spend $1100.00 only to find a new lens out in a short period of time.
I'd be surprised to see an update. It's a manual focus lens, so they can't update the focus motor. It's not a lens likely to ever have IS added to it. It's already pretty sharp so I really can't see what they could do to it that would be worth and R&D expenditure. I'm sure they have more pressing updates to do (like adding IS to the 400/5.6L for example, or putting a real ring USM motor in the 50/1.4).
