Hi there, I was searching amazon and I am not sure which UV filter size is suitable for the EF 100mm f.2.8 L IS USM? is it the Canon 58 mm?? I also need to know about the hood, since I've never tried one before is it goingto fit well with the UV filter...and if there is no problem, is it theET-73??
Thank You

When you purchase an "L" lens, like the EF 100f/2.8L, the lens hood will be included as part of the purchase and is packed with the lens.

Thank you both for replying! well about the hood, I was told that it comes with it, well it did not come with my 28-135mm Concerning the filters, I guess if the price won't be a lot higher, then I'll get the last one you've suggested Bob ...Thank You

All "L" series lenses that can be fitted with a hood are supplied with a hood in the box (and sometimes a case).
I don't think any Canon non-L lenses are supplied with a hood included, hence your 28-135 would not have come with one.

You can save a few bucks if you go with a multi-coated Hoya clear protection filter rather than a UV. Although UV filters for film were somewhat useful for long distant shots they have no role that I'm aware of for digital. Sensors are just not sensitive to UV light as film was or is.
