I'm getting a MacBook Pro and debating whether I should get Aperture 3 on it or Lightroom. I shoot a Canon 40D and have not really gotten into an advanced editing program, due to my current 6 year old underpowered laptop. Any preferences regarding Aperture 3 vs. Lightroom 3, especially with Canon gear? Thanks for any advice, olyduck

I just use iPhoto - so I have no direct opinion, but there is an active Aperture group on the Apple discussion forums if you have a specific question about Aperture.

Note Aperture is $79 when you buy it from the Apple App Store. I've had a hard time getting used to Aperture, but at $79 I can buy a couple of "how to" books in addition to the software purchase for the cost of Lightroom. And you can load an App Store purchase on up to 5 machines, I have it on my new MacBook Pro and on the (OS X Server) Mini that I use as a desktop/file server.
