Books - Galen Rowell

Galen Rowell was a climber, a photographer, and adverturer and a writer. His loss in a small plane crash in California in August 2002 was a blow felt by many photographers and followers of his work and adventures. His photography of some of the world's wildest places was superb and his writing was always interesting and thoughtful. If you only own one of his books, I'd suggest "Mountain Light". It's been in print for many years for good reason. Wonderful photographs accompanied by thought provoking text.
