UPDATE: As has become fairly common practice these days, Canon have extended their rebates through September 29th. There's usually one extension. I guess they figure they'll get everyone to buy ASAP because the rebate is about to end, then they extend the rebate to bring in a few more customers. I suspect these rebates may really end on September 29th though.
UPDATE#2: Well, I was wrong! Canon have extended the lens and Speedlite rebates through October 27th 2012. The 7D and T4i rebates also continue through October 27th as does the EOS 5D MkII rebate which has been increased from $200 to $400
Here are the EOS 5D MkII, EOS 7D and EOS T4i rebates. The 5D MkII kit is with the EF 24-105/4L IS USM. The EOS 7D kits are with the EF-S 18-135/3/5-5.6 IS and/or the EF 70-300/4-5.6 IS USM. Various EOS 60D + lens kits are also eligible for instant rebates as detailed below. The lenses includes are the EF-S 18-200IS, the EF-S 18-135IS and the EF 70-300IS
The individual lenses and speedlites covered by the rebate are listed below. The rebates average around 10%.
The Rebel T4i kits include the EF-S 55-240/4-5.6 IS, the EF-S 18-135/3.5-5.6 IS and the EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 IS
Finally, there are also several Canon EOS Rebel T3 and T3i + lens kits as detailed below. The lenses include the F-S 55-240/4-5.6 IS, the EF-S 18-135/3.5-5.6 IS and the EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 IS

Tamron have announced another rebate program which runs through 04/30/12. It's a mail-n rebate scheme and the lenses must be purchased from an authorized Tamron dealer to claim the rebate (that includes Amazon, Adorama and B&H of course).

Canon's last rebate cycle ran though February 4th 2012. On February 5th a new rebate cycle started which will ran though March 3rd 2012 and has now been extended through March 31st 2012. This rebate cycle offers similar rebates on lenses and speedlite to the last program, but this time the rebate is doubled if you buy an EOS 7D, 60D or 5D MkII at the same time. There are some changes from the previous rebate cycle. A few lenses have been dropped and a few new ones added. Rebates have also changed. For example the previous rebate on the EF 70-200/2.8L IS II USM was $300. In the current rebate cycle it's $200, but that goes up to $400 if you buy one of the eligible bodies at the same time. The EF 20/2.8 has been dropped, but the EF 8-15/4L fisheye zoom has been added. In general the current rebates are lower than those in the last program if you just buy the lens, but higher than the last program if you also but an eligible body.
The prices listed are the Canon suggested retail prices. The store price should be no higher than this price, and in some cases may be significantly lower so check out prices at the recommended retailers and see who has the best deal.
Canon's late 2011 rebates have been extended through February 4th. There are rebates on the EOS 5D MkII, the EOS 7D, selected Canon lenses and selected Canon Speedlites. The prices listed are the Canon suggested retail prices. The store price should be no higher than this price, and in some cases may be significantly lower so check out prices at the recommended retailers and see who has the best deal.
Vendors should deduct the rebate at the time of purchase. No forms to mail in, no waiting 6-8 weeks for a check in the mail.
The major retailers are all authorized Canon dealers and so should be applying these rebates to their prices.
Canon rebates have been coming and going a lot this year. It's hard to keep track of all the current programs, but here's a link which should show most of them. Note that many of the rebate deals are for DSLR purchases with a Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II (get back $400) or with a Pro9500 Mark II Photo Printer (get back $500), though there is an instant rebate on the Rebel T3 kits ($200).
Canon rebates available at Adorama.com
There are strong rumors that an EOS 5D MkII rebate will be announced around September 26th, but so far that is just a rumor with no official word from Canon (as of September 25th 2011).
However...Adorama are showing a $100 "instant rebate" on the EOS 5D MkII as of 09/25/11. Here's the link Canon EOS 5D MkII - $2399 after $100 instant rebate. They're also showing a $100 instant rebate on the 5D MkII with the EF 24-105L lens.EOS 5D MkII + EF24-105 - $3199 after $100 instant rebate
There's also a Tamron Rebates Page at Adorama which lists the various Tamron lenses and kits which carry rebates.
Currently (February 2011) Canon have an instant rebate program on several lenses and the 60D and 7D. The rebate is $100 off the EOS 60D or EOS 60D kit and $200 off the EOS 7D or EOS 7D kit.
The Canon Rebate program runs from Feb 20th 2011 to Match 19th 2011
These are the rebated camera/lens kits. $100 on the 60D and kits, $200 on the 7D and kits
There are also a few lens rebates: The rebate is doubled if you also buy an EOS 60D, 7D, 5D MkII, 1Ds MkIII or 1D MkIV
The Tamron lens rebate program (details below) is currently active and runs through April 30th 2011. It's a mail-in rebate program, but at least the prices didn't go up before the rebate was offered!

There's also a new instant rebate program which applies to the EOS 5D MkII and the EOS 5D MkII kit with the 24-105/4L lens. Again this runs from May 9th 2010 to July 10th 2010.

Canon EOS 5D The first (and currently the only) "affordable" full frame Digital SLR. A 12MP full frame (24mm x 36mm) sensor makes the EOS 5D the "best bang for the buck" when it comes to image quality from a DSLR. |

Zoom Lenses | EF-S 10-22/3.5-4.5 [Back to list] The only wideangle zoom designed for use on APS-C DSLRs (Digital Rebel XT/XTi and EOS 20D/30D). Gives an angle of view range equivalent to that of a 16-35 zoom on a full frame 35mm camera. The EF-S 10-22 is a very good lens. Low distortion, good sharpness and flare resistance. It's my standard wideangle on my EOS 20D |

EF-S 10-22/3.5-4.5 |
EF 16-35/2.8L II [Back to list] The EF 16-35/2.8L II is the premium ultrawide EOS zoom for full frame cameras. On a 20/30D or XT(i) it's equivalent to a 25.6-56, still a very useful fast, wideangle zoom |

EF 16-35/2.8L |
EF 17-40/4 L [Back to list] The 17-40/4L is an excellent lens and significantly cheaper than the 16-35/2.8L. If you don't need the speed of the f2.8, this is Canon's best wideangle zoom. Equivalent to 27-64 when used on a 20/30D or XT(i) |

EF 17-40/4L |
EF-S 15-85/3.5-5.6 IS [Back to list] Maybe the best "all around" consumer lens for APS-C digital cameras, this lens has the same coverage as a 24-136mm would on a full frame camera. It also features Image Stabilization which gives an extra 3 to 4 stops of "handholdability". It's especially useful when traveling with a minimum of equipment. Note this is an EF-S series lens, for use only on Digital Rebels and the EOS 40D/50D/7D |

EF-S 18-200/3.5-5.6IS [Back to list] Canon's widest range consumer zoom. Many people will find that this is the only lens they need. While you can probably get higher image quality by splitting this range into two segments, many users will find the convenience of not having to change lenses a more important feature. The very effective IS system makes this lens easy to use handheld. |

EF-S 17-85/4-5.6 IS [Back to list] Maybe the best "all around" consumer lens for APS-C digital cameras, this lens has the same coverage as a 27-136mm would on a full frame camera. It also features Image Stabilization which gives an extra 3 stops of "handholdability". It's one of my most used lenses, especially when traveling with a minimum of equipment. Note this is an EF-S series lens, for use only on Digital Rebels and the EOS 20D/30D |

EF-S 17-85/4-5.6 IS |
EF 24-70/2.8 L [Back to list] Canon's best mid range wide-short tele zoom. Fast and sharp. On a 20/30D or XT(i) it becomes a mid range zoom from 38-112, so it loses it's wideangle coverage but makes a great normal and portrait lens. |

EF 28-200/3.5-5.6 USM |

EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 IS |
EF 28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM [Back to list] Probably the best "do it all" lens for full frame 35mm camera or a "normal to telephoto" zoom for APS-C DSLRs where it has a coverage equal to that of a 45-200mm on full frame. The image stabilization give you two to three stops of extra stability, often making the use of a tripod unnecessary.

EF 70-200/2.8 L IS [Back to list] Great lens. Fast, sharp and with IS. Good for anything from portraits to sports and goes to 280mm with a 1.4x and 400mm with a 2x TC. Equivalent to a 112-320 lens when used on a 20/30D or XT(i) |

EF 70-200/2.8 |
EF 70-200/4L IS USM [Back to list] Canon took the already very good 70-200/4L and not only added image stabilization but also made the optics even better. This is now one of Canon's sharpest lenses and with the very effective IS it's very handholdable, even at 200mm and even with a TC attached. |

EF 75-300/4-5.6 III [Back to list] The least expensive telezoom from Canon. Sharp at the short end and not too bad at the long end. Not the world's sharpest 300mm lens, but for around $180 or so it's certainly good value. |

EF 100-400/4.5-5.6L IS USM [Back to list] Canon's longest telephoto zoom, and an "L" series image stabilized lens to boot. While maybe not quite as sharp as the 300/4L and 400/5.6L, the zoom image quality is very good and a zoom is certainly more convenient, especially with Image Stabilization which allows handholding even at 400mm. |

EF 15/2.8 fisheye [Back to list] Fisheye lenses are fun, if used in moderation! This will give you a 180 degree diagonal field of view on a full frame 35mm camera. EF 50/1.4 [Back to list] 2/3 stop faster than the 50/1.8, plus it has a USM motor (but not a ring USM). If you're addicted to fast lenses this is Canon's cheapest f1.4 at around $300. (the 24/1.4 is $1100). On an APS-C digital body (Rebel/20D/30D) it makes an excellent portrait lens, giving the same view and speed as an 80/1.4 lens would on a full frame camera. |

EF 85/1.2 II L [Back to list] This is the prime portrait lens for full frame cameras if cost and size aren't an issue. It's bigger and heavier than the f1.8 version and it focuses slower, but at f1.2 it's also 1.3 stops faster and will blur out backgrounds better. |

EF 135/2.0 L [Back to list] The 135/2L is regarded by many as one of Canon's very best and sharpest lenses - and it's "only" $900, which isn't a lot for an "L" series lens. Great for sports and even better on a 20/30D or XT(i) where it's the equivalent of a 216mm lens on a full frame camera. It's compatible with Canon's 1.4x and 2x TCs. |

EF 300/4 L IS [Back to list] The 300/4L is a great lens for wildlife work on both full frame and 1.6x Digital cameras. The IS allows handholding in low light, focus is fast and if you need more reach you can add either the Canon 1.4x or 2x TC. Very sharp, even wide open. |

EF 400/5.6L [Back to list] Though it doesn't have IS, the 400/5.6L is very popular with bird photographers owing to its light weight and fast focus for tracking birds in flight. It's compatible with both the Canon 1.4x and 2x TCs, though with a 2x it gets pretty slow at f11. |
