| Comments | Push-pull Zoom. Rather slow and noisy AF, but very sharp optics. It's an "L" series lens with a Fluorite element with much better performance at 300mm than similar range "consumer" grade lenses. At the right price this lens can be an excellent buy, as long as you don't need fast AF and you don't need image stabilization (i.e. you use a tripod at 300mm). Note that it's a constant aperture zoom, so it's f5.6 at 100mm (about 2/3 stop slower than most similar range consumer zooms which are typically around f4.5 at 100mm). |
