| Comments | EF version of the older FD500/4.5L. Very sharp, very good lens. Smaller and lighter than the newer 500/4L IS USM which replaced it. Note that due to the f4.5 aperture this lens will not AF with a Canon 1.4x TC on EOS DSLRs other than series 1 bodies (1D, 1Ds series). Will not AF with a Canon 2x TC on any EOS body. However I've found that I can get good image quality and reliable AF using a Tamron 1.4xTC on this lens. |
