Canon EOS 20D kit (w/EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6) For Sale

I've decided to sell some gear that I'm not currently using and among it is an EOS 20D with the EF-S 18-55 kit lens. The camera is in excellent shape. No scratches, dings or dents. It's not seen any heavy use (no commercial shooting, no weddings, no sports) and in fact has hardly seen any use at all in the last few years since it's been used as my 2nd backup camera (after an EOS 5D and 40D). The only real sign of use is that the hot shoe shows "brassing" (paint is scuffed and worn at the edges) due to the use of an external flash on it.

The camera is clean, the sensor is clean and I just cleaned the lens optics.

I can't give you a shutter count because there is no known, authenticated, documented way of getting that information from an EOS 20D. Schemes such as decoding the word pair starting at hex 95D in the EXIF data appear to give a number in the right range (but since it's just two hexadecimal words, it will always give a number between 0 and 65535). The number has been shown not to correspond with the true shutter count. Though it may increment by 1 for each shot under some circumstances, it appears to be related to file numbering and not absolute shutter actuations - and can change when you change the memory card! It gives a number, but that number really doesn't appear to mean much. My guess would be that this body has under 10,000 shutter actuations (the 20D is rated for 100,000), but I emphasize that's just my best guess, knowing how often I shoot and how long I was shooting with the 20D as my primary camera.

I bought the 20D new and it comes with all the original papers (including invoice for $1500!) and the original EOS 20D kit box and packaging. The box contains:

• Wide neckstrap
• Software CDs (including Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0)

I'll also include a 1GB Sandisk Ultra II CF card (good for about 265 JPEG or 105 RAW images) and a (legal) copy of Corel Paint Shop Pro 9 on a mini-CD. Paint Shop Pro 9 is a very good image editor (I use it myself) and is the last version of Paint Shop Pro developed by JASC before they were taken over by Corel (and some say it's gone downhill ever since!).

My asking price for the whole bundle is $385 and that includes insured shipping via FedEx Home Delivery (within the 48 contiguous states). There may be a small additional cost to ship to AK or HI.
