Just a note to point out to those interested in the Canon EOS 5D that the price has now fallen by over $300 to $2950 - and that's from a reputable dealer too!

The "Scum of the Earth" bait-and-switch stores have been advertising low prices for a while, but they are totally bogus as I've detailed in my article on How to avoid Photo Scammers

Currently you can buy an EOS 5D through Amazon.com for $2949.95 which is the lowest price from a legitimate and reputable dealer that I've seen so far. If you're tempted by full frame it seems like a pretty good deal.

UPDATE 12/21/05 - Sorry, you snooze, you lose! The price has now gone up by $50, but it's still under $3000 which is down by $300 from the initial $3300. Sometimes if you see a good price, you have to grab it.

Canon EF 70-300/4-5.6 IS USM On a different note, the price on the Canon EF 70-300/4-5.6 IS USM has fallen by $85 from its inital $650 down to $565, making it an even more tempting lens! There's also a $15 Rebate from Canon making the final price only $550.
