If you are reading this page, then you're seeing a new site design and the site is now hosted on
a new server. If all is going well it should be faster than before and easier to use. The new host is
Hostmonster
. If you're looking for a website host, check them out. You get unlimited space, unlimited transfers, you can host an unlimited number of domains, plus they have a huge number of features and programs to make life easy for the webmaster including preconfigured scripts (Fanastico) for forums, galleries, blogs and more. For UNIX gurus, they even give you shell access (SSH).
In response to the recent survey, I've tried to improve the site navigation and I've changed the color scheme and layout slightly to give the site a "cleaner" look. I've also started revising the advertising. I've been working on this pretty hard for the last week and I think most of the difficult work is done.
The site lives on advertising revenue (which means I do too!), so obviously I appreciate it if you buy through the links you'll see in the left side column on most pages. I've cleaned up the advertising a bit and I'm just hoping that it doesn't result in less people following the links!
All the recent pages (and most of the older pages) should have a search box in the top left corner which you can use to find things if you can't figure out which menu to use.
I'm still tweaking the site now it's live, and there are probably some deeply buried pages that I've missed, but most of the site should function as before (in fact it should function better). I'm still fighting with the CSS (style sheets) to get them to display the pages properly in all the major browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera and Safari). It's tough - especially with IE, but I think the site is usable in all of them.
There might be a little instability this weekend as the nameserver information propagates across the web. That can take 48 to 72 hrs. It's possible you might see the old site layout pop up, but if you use the same ISP all the time it should be stable with the new design.
It's now 4am here on the East Coast of the US and I've been working on getting things operational for the last 4 hours, so I'm going to bed now! Hopefully the site will still be up and functioning when I get up tomorrow. The jobs not done yet, but I think it's most of the way there.
